DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution

California State Society

Sierra Amador Chapter, NSDAR

Jackson, California

Welcome

The Sierra Amador Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), began in 2006 with 15 members. We now have more than 70 members from Amador, Calaveras, and several other counties in California, as well as some members who now live out of the state. It’s exciting to be part of a growing chapter expanding the work of the NSDAR.

We invite you to visit us if you are interested in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Our chapter Regent or chapter Registrar will be happy to answer any questions you may have about Sierra Amador Chapter, NSDAR, and provide meeting information and location.

About Us

Sierra Amador Chapter, NSDAR, took its name from beautiful Amador County, where we meet, and the Sierra Nevada range of which our county is a part. We were organized June 26, 2006, as a chapter in the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. We have more than 70 members from all backgrounds, ranging in age from 22 to 95. We meet nine times a year, January through May and September through December, in Jackson, a gold-rush town established in 1850. Our meetings usually include a potluck lunch, a business meeting, and a guest speaker on a topic of interest to all.

We participate in local parades, wreath-laying ceremonies, library displays during Constitution Week, and fundraising activities.
