Santa Lucia Chapter, NSDAR
Salinas, California
Welcome
We welcome you to the Santa Lucia Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR)! We are still serving our area in the 21st century, and we are happy to assist interested women in learning how they can become a member. We think you will find us to be a warm, friendly group of women representing a wide variety of ages, professions, and interests, and with a common love of country and supporting the pursuits of the DAR, including education, historic preservation, and patriotism.

About Us
The Santa Lucia Chapter, NSDAR, was organized on October 16, 1938, by Mrs. John A. Currie, the first chapter regent. We have been honored to have 33 regents to date. We welcome new members and are happy to assist interested women in learning how they can become a member.
Location
The Santa Lucia Chapter, NSDAR, is located in Salinas, California. Our area is often referred to as Steinbeck Country, because it is the home of the late author John Steinbeck, and America’s Salad Bowl, because of our rich agriculture. Salinas is close to the sparkling waters of Monterey Bay and host to the California Rodeo and the California International Air Show. Our chapter was named for the Santa Lucia Mountains that lie between the fertile Salinas Valley and the sparkling waters of the Pacific Ocean.
Most of our members live in various communities of the Salinas Valley, but we also have some long-distance members who enjoy maintaining ties to this chapter.
Meetings
We typically meet one Saturday a month, January through June and September through December.
