DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution

California State Society

Refugio del Cielo Chapter, NSDAR

Santa Ynez, California

Welcome

The Refugio del Cielo Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized December 13, 2014, by Joy I. Chamberlain and many dedicated DAR members from the Santa Ynez Valley. The chapter was named to honor President Ronald Reagan, whose “Western White House,” Rancho del Cielo, was in the nearby area during his time as both Governor of California and President of the United States. Reagan went to church and voted in the Santa Ynez Valley and was considered part of the community.

About Us

Shortly after the Refugio del Cielo Chapter, NSDAR, organized in 2014, chapter members began the service work that the National Society is known for. Refugio del Cielo Chapter, NSDAR, supports veteran students who attend the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), with food and treats, and may bring skilled members who offer complementary services. We participate regularly in the Solvang Independence Day parade. Our floats display Betsy Ross and her flag, different military flags, and several of our members. Along the parade route, we distribute American flags.
