DAR – Daughters of the American Revolution

California State Society

Piedmont Chapter, NSDAR

Piedmont, California

Welcome

The Piedmont Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was formed in 1929, at the height of America’s prosperity and just before the start of the Great Depression. Since 1929, a few things have remained true about our chapter: we enjoy meetings, social time, and various activities. In our organization, members call one another “Daughters.” Our meetings are generally held the second Friday or Saturday of the month, from January through May and September through December.

Chapter meetings follow an agenda highlighting the DAR objectives of education, historic preservation, and patriotism. Meetings begin with light refreshments, and we have a speaker or program focusing on historic events, women’s issues, and American Indians. The DAR Good Citizens Award Tea honors high school students.

Piedmont Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters contribute to the community in many ways, most notably through DAR service projects. We are involved with veterans and active-duty military, craft projects, local parades, and patriotic events. We help educate children through sponsored essay competitions and specially targeted growth opportunities. We are also a lineage society and have expert genealogists to help guide our prospective members in discovering their first Patriot ancestor.

Interested in attending a meeting? We’d love to hear from you — contact our chapter Regent to learn more.

Let’s Make a Difference — Together!

Piedmont Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters share a special bond of sisterhood, friendship, and history, so we sincerely enjoy spending time socializing together. And because we are a service organization, social ties are just the beginning — the real magic happens when we work together as a DAR team to make an impact in our community. Our chapter has programs and activities for everyone, with clear annual goals such as:
