- Participate in unique social and service-oriented programs within your community
- Be involved in a variety of programs that provide something for everyone
- Gain valuable leadership experience
- Establish a network of contacts in your community and all over the world
Why join the La Jolla Chapter of D.A.R.?
The La Jolla Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized May 16, 1949, by Miss Angeline E. Allen, the organizing regent. Meeting activities are focused on three objectives of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution: historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
Our chapter is thriving more than 75 years later! In our monthly meetings, we have enjoyed speakers about the military, immigrants, and genealogy. We often invite speakers to our meetings to deepen our knowledge of local issues and programs, American history and heritage, the current state of the U.S. armed forces, and the work of our National Society.
Officially associated with the California State Society as well as National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution, our members are active in supporting DAR causes, including fundraising for the many charitable projects of the National Society.

About Us
The La Jolla Chapter is a vibrant community of descendants dedicated to service, with a mission aligned to the three core objectives of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution:
Historic Preservation
Preserving our heritage, protecting historical records, and honoring American history.
Education
Supporting local schools, funding scholarships, and promoting literacy.
Patriotism
Honoring our veterans, assisting active-duty military, and fostering civic pride.
Diverse Women, Shared Legacy, Modern Impact
We are a vibrant, forward-thinking community of women from all walks of life, brought together by a unique bond: our direct ancestry to the founders of our nation’s independence. While we deeply cherish our rich history, our primary focus is making a meaningful, modern impact through local service and civic engagement.
