About Us

The Caymus Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in Calistoga on 15 April 1972, with 15 members. The organizing regent was Lois Brown Enholm and the installing officer was Mrs. Frank Emilio La Causa. Daughters of two of our founding members are members of our chapter today.

Caymus is the anglicized name of a small tribe of Native Americans, belonging to the Wappo tribe, who lived in the Napa Valley when George Yount arrived. George Yount was the first Euro-American settler at the Caymus Ranchero.
