Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter, NSDAR
Santa Maria, California
Welcome
The Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), was organized on October 15, 1966, and was named in honor of Organizing Regent Marjorie Gunn Stoskopf’s American Revolutionary War ancestor.
We welcome any woman for membership who is 18 years of age or older, and who is descended from a man or woman who aided in achieving American independence during the period between April 19, 1775, and November 26, 1783.
The main objectives of our chapter are to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence, and to cherish, maintain, and extend American history, education, and patriotism. Our meetings are held on the second Saturday of the month, January through June and September through December.

About Us
Captain Henry Sweetser Chapter, NSDAR, is very involved with aiding veterans. We participate in the local Stand Down, where we distribute snacks and food coupons to homeless veterans. We also bake for our veterans at local clinics, bringing snacks such as nuts, fruit, and the occasional cakes and cookies for the veterans while they wait for the clinic.
