Welcome

The Acalanes Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is based in Central Contra Costa County, California, and serves the communities of Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga, Walnut Creek, and beyond. We are a vibrant and active chapter dedicated to historic preservation, education, and patriotism — values that have guided DAR since its founding in 1890. We are an award-winning chapter in California!

Our chapter brings together women who share a common bond of ancestry to patriots of the American Revolution. We honor our heritage not only through research and remembrance but through action — from maintaining a virtual cemetery of Revolutionary War patriots, to publishing “Patriot Minute” biographies, to participating in Orinda’s Fourth of July celebration, our chapter proudly connects the past to the present in ways that educate and inspire.

We warmly welcome new members and are happy to help those interested in tracing their Revolutionary War lineage. We host informal coffee gatherings to answer questions and assist with genealogical research. About Us

The Acalanes Chapter, NSDAR, draws members from Lafayette, Walnut Creek, Orinda, and Moraga. Our meetings are held on the first Saturday of the month in Walnut Creek, or sometimes in a member’s home, at 11:30 a.m., January through June and October through December, to share and foster our love of country and its history, as well as our local community. We welcome potential members to join us!
